The Wall Street Journal real estate blogger Nick Timiraos says that how the housing market is doing depends on what frame it is looked at.

Ten charts, using data gathered from the Commerce Department, National Association of Realtors and S&P Dow Jones Indices, provide some context to the housing figures for home sales, construction, inventory and prices that are reported every month.
