Based on school quality and safety, MarketWatch says “perhaps not surprisingly, many of these communities tend to be on the wealthier side – think, Cupertino, Palo Alto, and Mountain View in California.”

Despite its current water crisis, California takes half the spots among the nation’s best cities and six among towns.
