California set to mandate electric-vehicle infrastructure in new houses

The newest addition to the California Building Code being considered by lawmakers would require all new homes and parking lots to have the infrastructure for charging electric vehicles.

Builders would not be required to install EV charging stations themselves, just the wiring and other components needed for them. The new law is one of several recently passed to pave the way for greater EV usage in California, according to Clean Technica.
