Energy Expert Pushes the Benefit of Building Green

Not many builders comply with the 2012 or 2015 International Energy Conservation Codes if their locale does not enforce it, even though efficiency of those structures can increase by 38 percent, Construction Dive reports.

So far, only thirteen states and Washington, D.C., have adopted the code into their own, along with many local jurisdictions throughout the country.

Executive Director of the Energy Efficient Codes Coalition, William Fay, speaks with Construction Dive about the latest versions of the IECC and why he believes builders should embrace them.
