The Fed is approaching a milestone

Sept. 16, 2014

Rates may rise soon for the first time in eight years, The Washington Post’s Puneet Kollipra reports.

Kollipra aggregates the latest news on the Fed on his Wonkblog, finding that the Federal Reserve is expected to announce the end of its trillion-dollar bond-buying program on Wednesday, clearing a way for the Fed to raise interest rates. There is still much debate on the timeliness and economic consequences that may occur afterward, and economists are struggling to determine how much of the decline in participation is structural and how much is cyclical.
