In Houston, Jobs Are Lost but Home Sales Still Jump

The Houston Association of Realtors reports 4,032 single-family homes were sold in January, Houston Culture Map reports.

This is a 6 percent increase from January 2014, despite Houston energy companies laying off thousands of employees. According to Culture Map, there is a darkened outlook for the Houston economy as oil prices were slashed in the last half of the year.
