A University of Michigan survey found that middle class and lower-income Americans feel that their wages will rise in the year ahead.
Also, the groups will benefit more from cheaper gas prices, and a rise of good jobs available in their communities, CNN Money reports.
"The middle class are spending less at the pump. Their job prospects are better. Their wage increases are outpacing consumer price increases," Chris Christopher, an economist with IHS Global Insight, said.
