Amazon will soon select a home for its recently announced second headquarters, a $5 billion complex that will create 50,000 jobs.
Reuters reports that cities across the nation are planning to make a bid. Amazon is looking for a place with an international airport, mass transit, a good education system, and more than one million residents in the metro area.
Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Toronto, St. Louis, and Miami are among the cities that are expected to bid for the new headquarters, which Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said would be “equal” to the Seattle office.
Incentives from land to fee cuts to relocation packages will be a major part of the decision, Amazon said.
