Statistics from the 2014 American Community Survey show that the percentage of grandparents living with their grandchildren has increased from 3.6 percent in 2000 to 3.8 percent in 2014. One factor that may be contributing to this increase is that recent immigrants are more likely to live in extended family households. Also, some race/ethnic groups are more likely to live in multigenerational households.
