Roanoke College’s incoming class of 2027 is wrapping up the school's 18th annual 'R House' with Habitat for Humanity. Each year, the college invites freshmen work on the R House project during orientation building days, but Roanoke College continues to partners with the project until the house is completed by student volunteers with the goal of presenting the finished project to a local family by Christmas.
Today marks the last building day for this year's R House. Once finished, it will be moved to its final location in a residential neighborhood, WFXR reports.
R House has been a tradition of Roanoke College for many years, and students work with the future homeowner to create a difference in the community.
R House is a great opportunity to allow incoming students to experience something new like raising walls, hammering nails into walls, floorboards, roof sheathing, and more.
