Texas Has Some of the Highest Property Taxes in the Nation

A new study from WalletHub found that Texas homeowners have some of the highest property taxes in the U.S., Houston Culture Map reports.

WalletHub came to this conclusion by looking at data from the U.S. Census and each state’s Department of Motor Vehicles to analyze the 50 states and District of Columbia.

Texans pay an average of $3,327 per year in property taxes, which is $1,238 higher than the national average of $2,089.
