The East South Central region includes Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

D.R. Horton, Lennar, and Clayton Properties Group occupy the top three spots among 38 builders operating in those states last year, which combined for a total of 21,275 for-sale and for-rent closings/completions in 2025.

Alabama and Tennesee led the region with 8,781 and 8,727 for-sale and for-rent units, respectively.
