Westlake Ace Hardware, which is headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., has concluded its annual Fan Drive in support of The Salvation Army, raising $105,000 across 129 participating Westlake Ace-operated stores, with fans being delivered to Salvation Army locations in mid-July.

The annual Fan Drive, which began in 2012, has raised $855,000 and provided more than 58,000 fans to those in need over the years. During this year's drive, which took place in the first three weeks of June, Westlake Ace Hardware customers were asked to contribute to the drive by rounding up their purchases at the register. The donations were then calculated, and fans were provided at cost by Westlake Ace. In addition, the hardware retailer donated an extra 800 fans, for a total of 6,100 fans given this summer to The Salvation Army locations across the nation.

In a press release, Andy Schmitt, VP and COO of Westlake Ace Hardware, said, “I am very proud of what we continue to achieve with the Fan Drive. At Westlake Ace, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in our communities. Providing life-saving heat relief during hazardous summer temperatures is something we are all very proud of.”
