M/I Homes Generates $215K for Cancer Research Through Sale of Benefit Home
Columbus, Ohio-based home builder M/I Homes’ Chicago division recently announced the completion and sale of its 2025 benefit home in Plainfield, Ill. The sale of the home generated a $215,000 donation for Pelotonia, a cancer-research fundraising organization supported each year by M/I Homes. In addition to this donation, the division collected another $85,000 through its 2025 golf tournament fundraiser, bringing its total contribution to Pelotonia this year to $300,000.
This year marks the fourth year in a row that the Chicago team has taken part in the Benefit Home program, in which all 15 M/I Homes divisions work with their local trade partners to construct a discounted-cost home in one of their active communities.
Each home is then sold at market price, with the proceeds going to Pelotonia. In the past three years, the Chicago division raised more than $470,000 through the program, and the 2025 home brings that cumulative amount to $685,000.
“As we approach the season of giving around the upcoming holidays, we are incredibly honored to have been able to use our work and industry relationships to support Pelotonia and its vital mission of fighting a disease that impacts so many of us directly or indirectly,” said Rick Champine, area president of M/I Homes. “Even more gratifying is that both the Benefit Home program and our golf outing fundraiser showcase the incredible generosity of our industry partners, whose support and participation is integral to the success of these initiatives.”
