In an effort to make radiant floor heating systems more accessible, Warmboard has unveiled the new Comfort System that includes all the parts, instructions, and support necessary for builders to get the job done fast and accurately.

“Our goal with the Warmboard Comfort System is to make radiant heat attainable to a larger consumer audience so more people can experience living with the unrivaled comfort it provides and say with certainty that they love their heating system,” Terry Alsberg, CEO of Warmboard, Inc, says. “Radiant heat is an extremely energy-efficient heating solution that can reduce energy costs by 30 percent for the typical installation.”

Using the Warmboard Comfort System’s integrated, closed network, the system’s parts, such as the thermostat and boiler, communicate wirelessly to operate 15 heating zones and two cooling zones. Each area can be set individually to avoid heating unused rooms, and the system can warm them within one degree of the set temperature. If builders want to warm more areas of a home than the 15 zones, they can use multiple systems.

To get customized instructions and support, builders send their project details to Warmboard. The company’s engineers then perform a heat loss analysis and create job-specific documents that indicate the quantities, locations, and installation methods for each part of the system. In a paint-by-number-inspired design, installers can use color-coded parts that correspond to color-coded instructions, which are shipped directly to the jobsite. By streamlining the process, Warmboard aims to reduce installation time, cost, and errors.

“In many ways, the radiant heat industry has been its own worst enemy when it comes to high premiums and complex product installations,” Alsberg says. “Homeowners, contractors and architects will no longer need to deal with multiple vendors specialized trades to integrate radiant heat into their projects.”

Roping together everything a builder would need for a radiant heat, the Warmboard Comfort System includes:

Three hallmark parts of the system are the Warmsource boiler, Smart Reset Control, and the wireless Manifold Controllers. Instead of a traditional boiler design, the pre-plumbed and pre-wired Warmsource boiler is tucked away in a stainless steel, wall-hung cabinet. Because the boiler is high efficiency, the system can warm a room using lower-temperature water, which the company says can save homeowners money on utilities. The Smart Reset Control located inside of the Warmsource boiler communicates with the Manifold Controllers to regulate the temperature of each zone by opening and closing the system’s valves automatically according to the company’s set algorithms.

Homeowners can use the included touch-screen thermostat to set their desired temperature. When they go on vacation, they can remotely set the house’s temperature and then warm it back up when they’re on their way home via an iOS or Android device. If they’re worried about the temperature while they are away, they can also give system access to Warmboard so that they can intervene in the case of extreme weather—but this will only happen if the company is explicitly given permission.
