Mortgage company HSH has calculated exactly how much salary you would need in order to afford the principal, interest, taxes, and insurance payments on a median-priced home in 27 metro areas. HSH found that quarter to quarter, home-price changes were mixed, with 13 metros seeing declines and 14 seeing increases. With the exception of Pittsburgh, prices were up on a year-over-year basis in all of the metros covered, with gains as high as 15.17 percent.
