Backing up a truck with a trailer connected to it is challenging for even the most seasoned driver. The new Trailer Reverse Guidance system on the Ford F-series Super Duty line offers help. Ford’s guidance system gives a bird’s-eye view of the truck and the trailer by using two side-view cameras, a tailgate camera, and an optional camera that can be placed on the rear of the trailer, allowing the driver to see what’s behind it. The cameras track the motion and angle of the trailer and can alert the driver if there is a danger of jackknifing. They can also coach the driver on which direction to turn the wheel while backing up.
