The completion of the merger of Invitation Homes and Starwood Waypoint Homes, originally announced in August, is the latest of a series of mergers in the family rental industry.
Invitation Homes owns and operates approximately 50,000 rental homes in 13 major markets, including Chicago, Atlanta, and Northern California. Combined with Starwood Waypoint's 32,000 homes, the combined company will own and operate roughly 82,000 single-family rental homes, averaging 4,800 homes per market, reports HousingWire.
“We will be able to more effectively and efficiently deliver exceptional living experiences near good jobs and good schools for families choosing to rent,” Invitation Homes CEO Fred Tuomi said. “Our combined team is excited about the future and the opportunity ahead to continue serving our residents and supporting local communities.”
