Interest in outdoor living spiked because of the pandemic, but homeowners still desire summer-ready, upgraded outdoor spaces to enjoy during the warmer months. Design firm Housing Design Matters says these five highly desired outdoor living enhancements can elevate any backyard: cabanas, turf, water features, grills, and firepits. For homes with large enough backyards, cabanas can be ideal as a refuge away from a scalding sun while remaining outdoors. If attached to the home, a cabana can also create an expanded outdoor living space that can protect a television and bar.
PUTTING GREENS AND K9 TURF
Putting greens are low maintenance, always green, and provide a fun outdoor activity. And speaking of low maintenance, K9 turf is the new low maintenance embellishment for horizontal apartments.
WATER FEATURES AND WATERFALLS
Whether a fountain or a full-scale waterfall, moving water creates both a soothing sound and when lit at night, magic moving light reflections. Moving water also has the added benefit of drowning out unwanted sounds – like adjacent road noise.
