The National Green Building Standard (NGBS) launched in 2009. Since then, more than 400,000 homes have received the ANSI-approved, third-party certification that verifies green construction practices in single-family and multifamily residential buildings, remodeling projects, and land developments.

The National Association of Home Builders offers this snapshot of the top NGBS green certification activity in 2022 for single-family and multifamily projects:

New states topping the single-family certification list include Louisiana and South Carolina. New states and provinces topping the multifamily certification list include Puerto Rico and Utah.
