Students at Bridgerland Technical College, in Logan, Utah, have successfully completed a 2,400-square-foot, two-story home built in nearby Nibley. Students began construction in August 2022 and finished building the following May, tackling everything from excavation work and pouring concrete to framing, roofing, siding, and interior design, The Herald Journal reports.
The project is completed annually by a team of more than a dozen students. Students from area high schools also partnered with the college to build a separate 1,160-square-foot home, which they recently completed. This year's homes will be auctioned at market value and eventually sold to local families.
Adrienne O’Brien, Bridgerland’s director of marketing and public relations, said it is always fun to see the students come to the college to work on the house. No matter the weather, they were outside completing their project.
“The most unique thing about this is that it was built by students — in rain, snow, all kinds of weather — from the ground up,” she said, noting it gives students “an entire overview to help them be successful in the construction industry.”
