Moen

www.moen.com

Moen has added the brushed nickel finish to its Monticello collection, which is also available in chrome, polished brass, porcelain, platinum and LifeShine Satine. Available in ADA-compliant, single-handle and two-handle configurations, the collection features clean, classic lines. The Monticello suite also includes everything from a robe hook and a paper holder to towel rings and bars.

In My Own Words

"By using Moen plumbing products, we get strong brand recognition and a lot of production innovation. Moen gives us reasonable availability and minimal callbacks. We also like the lifetime warranty on their finishes and the ability to coordinate suites — including accessories. Combine all that with their builder customer-support systems, and you can see why it's so easy to do business with Moen."

Cocoon Cellulose Insulation

Cocoon cellulose insulation from U.S. GreenFiber delivers permanent, high-efficiency thermal insulation and effective R-value with equally permanent and proven fire resistance for added safety. Made from at least 85% recycled paper fibers, Cocoon also reduces nuisance noise when used in walls, offering a more comfortable and secure living space.

In My Own Words

"We use Cocoon cellulose insulation as well as Applegate cellulose insulation. Both feature 85% recycled paper content. They provide a significant reduction in air and sound transmission, while providing high-efficiency thermal insulation. It has proven to be fire-resistant in attached homes with firewall designs. For example, one of our finished town houses suffered a fire that was contained, resulting in minimal damage — to the surprise of the fire chief."

DensShield Tile Backer

www.gp.com

Georgia-Pacific's DensShield Tile Backer is a tile-backer board with glass-mat facings and a unique acrylic coating that blocks moisture from entering the wall cavity. DensShield dramatically outperforms heavy, hard-to-install cement board and fiber cement board products in moisture protection, strength and ease of installation.

In My Own Words

"DensShield is a superior backer board for tiled floors, walls and ceilings. Besides offering a lifetime warranty, it is mold- and mildew-resistant. That has resulted in a significant reduction of callbacks for failures, leaks and mold. In addition, we've found DensShield to be more forgiving of floor-system irregularities and movement. Plus, it is easier and more efficient to install."

Kohler

Kohler has introduced a new line of cast iron sinks, including an undermount version of its popular self-rimming Woodfield model. Designed for homeowners who prefer the classic tradition that cast iron provides, an undermount configuration offers a clean aesthetic, especially when paired with color-rich marble or granite countertops. The undermounting process of the new Woodfield sink creates an intriguing design profile under solid-surface countertops.

With an overall measurement of 33 x 22 inches, the Woodfield sink features a generous 15-1/2 x 17-1/2-inch basin on the right and a medium size, 11-1/2 x 15-inch basin on the left. This contemporary designed sink has a basin depth of 8-3/8 inches and is available in a broad array of colors. The Woodfield sink also offers perfectly sized, bottom basin racks to further protect the sink surface from chipping or marring due to heavy pots and sharp utensils.

In My Own Words

"Kohler also has strong brand recognition for quality, innovation and a superior finish that is very durable. Products are readily available, and we have minimal callbacks. Kohler offers the ability to replace trim sets easily for finish and style changes. Between Moen and Kohler, we can cover the bases of style selections needed for our particular buyers."

Jeld-Wen Doors

www.jeld-wen.com

Jeld-Wen's Cambridge series is a cost-effective line of stylish interior doors, made of molded wood fiber that harmonize with virtually every architectural style. "At Jeld-Wen, we make every effort to anticipate trends and to give our discerning customers what they want when they want it," says product manager Chris King. "For this reason, we introduced the Cambridge door — a high quality product that provides the increasingly popular, simple door design at a price to suit any budget."

In My Own Words

"We use solid core doors in our homes, and we particularly like the solid-core, classical, two-panel doors, called Cambridge, from Jeld-Wen. They perform and look like wood, but they outperform wood. There's no warping, and we've had minimal callback and warranty issues."
