National home prices are expected to fall under the newly-passed GOP tax reform bill, however, new data from the Census Bureau and Moody's Analytics show 11 areas where prices will rise.
The counties expected to see home prices rise by at least 1 percent between now and summer 2019 as a result of tax reform are located in Colorado (1 county), North and South Dakota (9), Texas (6), Alaska (4), Montana (1), and Nebraska (9), per Business Insider. Median home values in these counties range from $19,800 in Oglala Lakota County, South Dakota to $224,100 in San Juan County, Colorado.
According to new data from Moody's Analytics, housing markets in some rural areas of the country might see a small boost. pulled median home prices, median rent prices, and median household incomes for many of these counties, based on recent Census data.
