Attractive connectors for exposed-wood applications.
|
Simpson Strong-Tie has created an Architectural Products Group as a response to a clamoring from builders and architects for attractive connectors for exposed wood applications. The line includes interior and exterior steel connectors, joist hangers and other products in three collections - Rustic, Classic and Specialty - all finished with a textured black powder-coat finish.
Tom McClain, product manager for Simpson Strong-Tie, says the industry has seen an increase in the use of natural wood for exposed ceiling beams and rafters, especially in lofts and other homes in urban locales. The new products, McClain says, "provide structural performance while creating a distinct visual expression."
Product prices vary, but range from $5 to $30. For more information visit www.strongtie.com.
