Oak Ridge National Laboratory released findings from field tests of a roof and attic system that aims to improve the energy efficiency of residential buildings. The system uses a passive ventilation strategy that releases heat from the house and reduces its thermal load. A $2,000 retrofit with the system could save about $100 annually.
