KB Home acquires lots in Raleigh-Durham market

KB Home, one of the nation’s largest home builders, has acquired 65 lots in Fuquay-Varina, N.C., the company announced.

By HZ Staff December 19, 2012

KB Home, one of the nation’s largest home builders, has acquired 65 lots in Fuquay-Varina, N.C., the company announced.

The home builder plans to open a new community in Fuquay-Varina called Lakestone Village in early 2013.

Located within a master-planned community, residents at Lakestone Village will have access to a community center, playground, and junior-sized Olympic swimming pool.

KB Home plans to build one- and two-story single-family homes at Lakestone Village between 1,900 and 3,300 square feet, with up to six bedrooms and four baths. Pricing is expected to start around $180,000.

KB Home’s Built to Order approach gives home buyers the choice of home site and floor plans as well as aesthetic choices such like faucets and fixtures. Select floor plans also can be customized; for example, a loft space can be used as a home office or entertainment nook, or can be converted into an additional bedroom and bath.

All new KB Homes in North Carolina, including those that will be built at Lakestone Village, are Energy Star qualified. The home builder’s Energy Performance Guide, similar to the miles-per-gallon rating on cars, provides buyers with an estimate of monthly energy costs for the home as designed, as well as an estimate of monthly energy cost savings when compared to a typical resale home.

When home buyers are ready to select their homes’ finishing details, they visit the KB Home Design Studio in Durham.

Model home construction at Lakestone Village is set to begin before the end of the year.
