Developer Accretive Investments Inc.’s Lilac Hills Ranch near San Diego would use driverless electric cars controlled by software apps to operate as a pedestrian-friendly community.
The development will feature a village-style approach with every home within a 10-minute walk to the grocery store and village center. The proposed 1,700-unit community would be built in five phases. If approved by permitting authorities, it would include a K-8 school, a 50-room country inn, senior center, water-reclamation plant and other amenities.
