A low unemployment rate and no state income tax makes Nashville a great place to start a business. Women, though, get a few extra benefits.
Through a report from WalletHub, CNBC named the ten best cities for female entrepreneurs. Nashville is particularly alluring because the U.S. Small Business Administration opened a Women’s Business Center in the city last year, where women can get business consulting, classroom training, and peer advice.
Chattanooga (No. 2) and Memphis (No. 4) also made the top five. Other high-ranking cities included Milwaukee, Honolulu, and Rochester, N.Y.
The list was based on 10 metrics, which included average growth revenue, industry variety, and consulting services for women-owned businesses.
