Colorado Springs is drafting new laws to tightly regulate construction in landslide-risk areas. The action was prompted by landslides that started in July 2015 and have severely damaged or destroyed at least 26 homes. The proposed regulations would require a builder to get both a soils report from a geologist and a soils mitigation report from a geotechnical engineer.
