Bold colors, vintage-look appliances, and functional, durable materials will be increasingly popular for kitchens in 2018.
In their 2018 kitchen trend predictions, Realtor.com included seven likely design features to look for in the coming year. Among them: Subway tile will recede as geometric patterns become more popular; new colors, including fresh takes on the white kitchen, will start to show; and stainless steel appliances will be replaced by warmer, vintage looks.
The site also predicted an increase in demand for durable materials like quartz, and functional pieces like customized islands. Finally, the farmhouse style is not expected to go anywhere just yet.
"Farmhouse is always in," [says] Tina Anastasia, a partner at Mark P. Finlay Architects. But she predicts the look will shift in the coming year to incorporate more clean and contemporary lines.
