Roughly 65 percent of respondents in a National Association of Home Builders poll don't expect that their search to buy the right home will be any easier in 2018 than it was in 2017.
Compared to three months ago, 35 percent of homebuyers see fewer homes on the market with desirable features and price point, and 23 percent saw no change. The NAHB added, "58 percent don’t see the number of homes with the right features and price range increasing on the market. Nonetheless, being keenly aware of the housing inventory issues currently constraining the market is no deterrence to these buyers – they are determined to continue the search to buy a home in the next 12 months."
NAHB regularly conducts national polls of American adults and home buyers in order to understand new trends and preferences in the housing market. This is the sixth (and final) in a series of posts highlighting poll results, as presented during the 2018 International Builders’ Show in Orlando, FL.
