CityLab analyzes the latest data from the U.S. Census to see who wants to move versus who ends up actually moving.
The data revealed that nearly 10 percent of households want to move to a new neighborhood, and a large share of the respondents, one in five, has a household income of $25,000 or less annually.
CityLab reports that “the desire to move is much greater among racial minorities,” with roughly 17 percent of black households and 13 percent of Hispanic households saying they wanted to move.
