Unless you are deep in the industry, housing sales figures can be confusing. Realtor.com, though, looked at the recent reports and broke down the most significant elements.
Within the existing-home market, Realtor says that 2015 has been the healthiest year for sales since 2006. For new-home sales, the site found that a recent report on trends in June was skewed by a small sample size.
As for pending home sales, Realtor offers this housing metrics lesson: “Pay close attention to differences in trends in seasonal versus nonseasonal data.”
