TreeHugger reports that Germany will get 193 billion kWh, or 33 percent of its electricity, from renewables this year.
In fact, on July 25, which was relatively windy and sunny in this European country, 78 percent of Germany’s electricity came from renewables.
“This is even more impressive when you consider that Germany isn't exactly the sunniest or windiest place,” writes renewable energy correspondent Michael Graham Richard. “What matters most is the political will to make a change, and support from the population.”
