Some of the hippest and trendiest cities in the nation are some of the best places to get a job.
NerdWallet found the 10 best places that offer employment opportunities and an affordable lifestyle. Denver, Nashville, Seattle, and Austin, Texas, all have low unemployment rates, solid population growth, and strong median annual earnings for full-time workers.
The list, which also includes cities such as Minneapolis, Atlanta, and Irving, Texas, is dominated by places with fast-growing technology and healthcare industries. State capitals, which have more government jobs, were well-represented, too.
Nine of the 10 best cities for job seekers have a higher-than-average percentage of 20-somethings, according to 2015 U.S. Census data. The population in Minneapolis is particularly young, with nearly 22% of residents ages 20 to 29. The average percentage of residents in their 20s among all 100 cities is 17.2%.
