According to the most recent Producer Price Index from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, prices for softwood lumber, ready-mix concrete, gypsum, and OSB all increased last month.
NAHB Eye on Housing notes that a trade dispute between the U.S. and Canada caused the prices for softwood lumber to rise 4.8 percent, the largest jump in four years.
In February, gypsum prices rose by 5.3 percent and OSB prices increased by 3 percent. Ready-mix concrete prices saw a 0.5 percent uptick.
