In a recent report, Redfin revealed its picks for the hottest neighborhoods of 2018. Nine of the neighborhoods are located in San Jose, Calif., and all 10 are in the Bay Area.
The report highlights a migration trend in California away from Silicon Valley and towards areas that are relatively more affordable and convenient areas like San Jose, Cupertino, and Sunnyvale.
The Bucknall neighborhood in San Jose topped the list, followed by Cambrian, White Oak, and Ortega. Sunnyside, San Francisco, was eighth, and was the only neighborhood on the list not in San Jose.
The increased demand has already begun to put pressure on San Jose’s housing market, which in December had the shortest supply, higher price growth (to a median home sale price of $1.1 million) and a faster pace of home sales than any other market.
