A new report from PropertyShark shows how much house you can get for $200,000 across the U.S.
The report found that in New York City, a $200,00 budget could purchase only 126 square feet on average, while in Cleveland a family could get 30 times that, at 3,769 square feet. The same amount can purchase 260 square feet in San Francisco, 371 in Boston, 376 in San Jose, Calif., and 423 in Washington, DC, as well as 3,334 square feet in El Paso, Texas and 2,965 in Memphis, Tenn.
Realtor.com reports that buyers looking for a $200,000 home should favor the Midwest and South over the expensive coasts. The PropertyShark study looked at square footage and home prices in 33 U.S. cities.
