A Preview of New Products From 2020 IBS? Absolutely!

Composite Decking

MoistureShield’s new Elevate composite decking (shown, above) is an encapsulated product for homeowners with an entry-level budget. A protective cap shields each board from impact, corrosion, and harsh weather. Two colors are available: Lake Fog (a soft, gray shade) and Canoe (forest brown). The 5/4 deck boards are available in 12- and 16-foot lengths in grooved profiles (for hidden fasteners) and in 20-foot lengths with a solid edge for deck stairs and picture framing. 

Ceramic Tile

Rhythm, a new glazed porcelain product from Emser Tile, offers a geometric shape in either a matte or polished surface. Tiles measure 11 inches by 13 inches and come in a black or white plain hex design or in a black or white deco hex. 

Pocket Door Hardware

Inox PD96 by Unison Hardware is the industry’s only self-latching mortise lock for sliding doors, the company says. It features a bolt actuator integrated into the strike plate and a solid-brass push button on the faceplate of the lock. When the door closes, the push button triggers the 1-inch brass bolt automatically. The unit is available in Satin Stainless Steel, Bright Polished Stainless Steel, Oil Rubbed Bronze on Stainless Steel, or CeraMax Rainbeaux. 

Stone Veneer

Cultured Stone has added a third color to its Cast-Fit line of manufactured stone veneer products. Carbon, which offers a rich, gray color palette, emulates the shifts of light and dark tones present in morning fog just before daybreak, the company says. Measuring 7.625 inches tall by 15.6 inches long or 11.6 inches tall by 23.6 inches long, Cast-Fit is appropriate for residential and commercial projects. 

Beverage Cooler

Born out of a growing demand for beverage storage, True Residential has added a 30-inch glass-door beverage center column to its refrigeration lineup. The unit features the brand’s antibacterial 300 Series stainless steel (inside and out), ramp-up interior LED lighting and intuitive controls, and has a pull-out basket at the base to fit tall bottles. The columns are available in the brand’s Build Your True Collection of unique custom finishes and hardware options. 

Rainscreen

LP Building Solutions has added WeatherLogic Water Screen to its Structural Solutions portfolio. The synthetic, polymer-based rainscreen can be used with OSB and a WRB housewrap, or in conjunction with an integrated panel, such as LP’s WeatherLogic air and water barrier, to maximize a home’s moisture protection, the company says. Lightweight and easy to install, the  screen resists mold and helps buildings dry out.

Cabinet Fronts

German kitchen manufacturer BT45 teamed up with surfacing manufacturer Cosentino to create a new line of cabinet door fronts made from 4 millimeter-thick Dekton Slim ultra-compact surfacing. Environmentally friendly and resistant to scratches and marks, BT45 says the new introduction is for kitchen designers who struggle to find a way to match countertops with cabinets. Various colors are available.

Stainless Steel Shower Pan

The custom stainless steel shower base is a game changer, says its manufacturer, Infinity Drain. While it’s intended for commercial bathrooms, the product could easily be adapted for use on a custom home or high-end multifamily project. Guaranteed against water failure, the base comes pre-sloped and ready to tile.
