According to Pew Research Center, a majority of Americans that use the Internet now say they get their news via social media. A national survey conducted in March and April 2016 shows that Facebook continues to be the most popular social-networking platform for Americans who are online. Nearly 79 percent now use Facebook, compared to 32 percent using Instagram, 31 percent using Pinterest, 29 percent using LinkedIn, and 24 percent using Twitter.
