Scott Stowell, the executive chairman for CalAtlantic Homes, was named Chairman of HomeAid America, a building industry charity that helps the homeless. The term will last two years.
Last year, HomeAid completed 30 new projects across the country and added 500 beds for the homeless.
Stowell held various roles at Standard Pacific Homes for more than three decades before becoming CEO and president in 2012. He helped Standard Pacific merge with Ryland Homes to form CalAtlantic in 2015.
